The Conclusion of Erasmus+ project “SECOVE”

The Erasmus+ “SECOVE – Sustainable Energy Centres of Vocational Excellence” project has officially concluded its activities, culminating in a final Congress that celebrated its achievements. During the Final Congress, which was held at the University of West Attica (Greece), the Applied Research & Innovation Competition Award ceremony was set to honour the best projects from the national and transnational competition, showcasing innovative solutions developed by students.

As the project ends, we also conclude with SECOVE’s core outputs – the Innovation Hubs, National Observatories, and the SECOVE Academy – which are now showcased as permanent resources in the project’s portal. Our ambition and determination drives us to provide better quality and vocational excellence in education in the field of sustainable energy across Europe.

Innovation Hubs

The Innovation Hubs are central to the project, designed as both physical and virtual centres where vocational education meets industry. The Hubs provide a space for collaboration among students, educators, and professionals so they can exchange knowledge and practices about real practices and challenges in sustainable energy. By linking VET schools directly with local companies, the Hubs’ purpose is to ensure that education is aligned with real labour market needs, fostering innovation and skills development beyond the project’s lifetime.

Impact on Innovation

National Observatories

The National Observatories have proven their strategic value by driving inclusive excellence in sustainable energy VET. The observatories are responsible for monitoring the skills gaps, labour market trends, and policy alignment across the partner countries (Greece, Spain, Slovakia, Italy, Portugal). The Observatories are responsible for promoting and ensuring that Vocational education and training doesn’t only address technical knowledge and skills, but also promotes social inclusion and equality.

Impact on Inclusion

One of the project’s main focus is on lifelong learning. With the success of the SECOVE Student Mobilities and the transnational synergy opportunities, VET learners were able to gain hands-on experience in different European countries, broadening their technical, professional and cultural skills. The Student mobilities were one of the most dynamic and impactful components of the project, driving vocational excellence through cross-border collaboration. This mobile, flexible learning ecosystem—supported by the portal’s services—effectively functions as an academy without walls, promoting innovative and quality lifelong learning pathways that lead to recognized qualifications.

Impact on Education

The SECOVE Portal

The SECOVE Portal has grown into a lively European hub where VET providers, universities, companies, and the public can connect, collaborate, and exchange ideas and practices in the field of sustainable energy. In numbers, its impact is clear as the continuous flow of information about completed/future events, mobilities, and overall resources, made it possible for the partnership to ensure the continuous growth of the SECOVE community. As the project concludes, the portal remains a sustainable digital tool and space for sharing best practices and fostering new partnerships.
